I believe fathers have the power to change the world. Through fatherhood we have the potential to change the future generations and oh, how we need change in future generations!

Who wants to be a king for a day? I’m not sure you could find anyone who for one moment, wouldn’t like to be a king (or queen). It’s what dreams are made of. The idea of being a king (or queen) is something every little boy and girl dreams of no matter where you come from or what your background is.

As a young boy, I heard the loud noise of sirens pull up outside my house, rushing to the window I fix my gaze on a fire engine and a group of firemen who had gathered across the street at my neighbour’s house.

I believe Jesus hates racism, and so do I. Sadly, over recent years I have heard but not listened, seen but not understood, the impact of racism and that it is on our own doorstep.

Louise and I were married on the 21st June 1997. What a day that was! It was a day I was beginning to think would never happen as Louise made me wait 7 years from going out as boyfriend and girlfriend to her walking down the aisle and saying ‘I do’.

Louise and I are thankful that faith can be found in and amongst our family. There’s nothing more special than seeing those you love most growing in their own relationship with their saviour, Jesus Christ.

One of the huge responsibilities we have as parents is to provide practically for our families. This is a really big deal. There’s no easy way to navigate this as careers, priorities and the economy changes, sometime unexpectedly!

We love to worship at Home Church and we’ve recently been blessed to be singing original songs written from songwriters within the Home Church team.

Right now the UK is in lockdown due to Covid-19 and whilst this provides precious time with our families, it’s a stretch at the same time! If you’re a parent, you know exactly what I mean…..!

In Ruth chapter 1 we see a family, living in the centre of God’s will for their lives. Settled in a place which was the land of their people and their God - until things got tough.

I vividly remember the morning we found out we were expecting baby number 2. It was a whirlwind of emotions. I was thrilled picturing a new baby around the house and couldn’t wait to share with our families and our closest friends.

The first time we hear about the idea of family in the Bible is right at the very beginning of time when God created Eve from Adam (Genesis 2:22–24) and established the very first family.

The Bible describes God a Father that loves His children and He knows more than anyone how to parent through the promise and the pain. I can’t begin to imagine how much trouble we cause Father God with our childish antics since the beginning of time!

Anyone who has parented a toddler knows it’s a time in a little human’s life that can be intense and rewarding all at the same time.
