No More Comparisons

Last week was report week in the Cherrie household for the boys.

Jackson, Zak and Max all received that brown envelope detailing what they had achieved this school year. 

As we read through them one thing was emphasised to me more than ever. They are all SO different! Brought up in the same house, the same way yet they are not at all the same.

Actually one of the things that fascinates me is watching how they develop as individuals. They are beautifully diverse!

As are we.

Unfortunately though, there’s no-one better at comparing themselves with others than mums. We are experts' in seeing others’ strengths and comparing them to what we see as a great host of our weaknesses; At observing another woman or girl and being fully persuaded that she is prettier, cleverer, nicer, a better mum, a better friend, more accomplished….and the list goes on.

In Galatians 5 in The Bible says “we will not compare ourselves with each other as if one of us were better and another worse. We have far more interesting things to do with our lives. Each of us is an original.”

You are an original and God intended for you to be! We are unique and we all have something to give, to contribute in our own beautiful way. Think of how life would be if we were all the same…so boring!!

No-one is better at being you than you so girls…no more comparing…there’s far more interesting things to do with your life!
