How To Live In Fear
Ok, so I might have chosen this controversial title to grab your attention. So I’m gonna just go with it and offer you some really BAD ADVICE!
Here’s a bunch of ways to live in fear;
Believe Everything You See, Hear & Read
If you want fear in your life, go ahead and believe everything you see, hear and read. It sounds silly when you think about it but we have all been guilty of this at times in our past.
Or listen to what the Bible says…
Hebrews 11:1 (TPT)
Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.
Believers don’t live by what they see they live by FAITH. Let me give you some GOOD ADVICE; “Inhale Faith, Exhale Fear”
Philippians 4:6 ESV
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Live A Loveless Life
The best way to welcome fear into your life is to banish love from your life.
1 John 4:18 ESV
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
Welcome It In
If you want to live in fear, go ahead and open the doors to your heart and mind and welcome it in. Or, instead you could make a stand and believe that fear is not a gift from God - only peace comes from God.
2 Timothy 1:7 ESV
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
“Never let fear decide your future”
John 14:27 ESV
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
Put Your Trust In Man
If you want to live in fear, be sure to put all your trust in man - good idea? Not really. Look at what the Bible says…
Proverbs 29:25 ESV
The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.
When someone says you can’t do it, do it twice and take pictures.
Psalm 27:1 ESV
Of David. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Talk About It
If you want to live in fear, make sure you are always talking about it - it will weigh you down! Or you could speak words of life, you choose. You can be controlled by the fear in your mind or the dream in your heart
Proverbs 12:25 ESV
Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.
“We suffer more in our imagination than in real life”
Worry About Tomorrow Today
If you want to live in fear, start worrying about tomorrow today. It won’t do you any good but it will feed your fear. The antidote to fear is trust or faith. Fear is a reaction, faith is a decision. Choose faith today.
Matthew 6:34 ESV Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Meditate On it
If you want to live in fear, let it linger on your. mind. Let it stay, let fear make its self at home and move in for the long haul. Or keep moving, pushing on through your valley and head for the light at the end of the tunnel.
Psalm 23:4 ESV
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
“Fear does not stop death, it stops life”
Make Mountains Out Of Molehills
If you want to live in fear, Magnify the problems in your life. Or, be like Joshua and Caleb when they brought back their report of the promised land. Often the difference between a mountain and a molehill is your perspective.
Numbers 13:28
But the people living there are powerful, and their towns are large and fortified. We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak!
Take God For Granted
And finally, i you want to live in fear, take God and all His goodness for granted. Erase Him from your everyday affairs. Make sure He’s not honoured with your finances or time - that should do it. Or you could do the exact opposite. From what I’ve read in the Bible, it might be a wise choice.
Proverbs 19:23 ESV
The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm.
Psalm 111:10 ESV
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!
