Teenage Decisions

Every sat with your teenager and hit a brick wall when it comes to getting them to make a decision? It’s not as easy as we think to make decisions especially when related to their future!

One thing that will help is to help them set simple goals. Use this simple 3 step technique to get them focused and making progress;

1. IDENTIFY ONE GOAL

What one thing are they trying to achieve this week/month/year? Climbing a mountain often gets much easier once you have picked the mountain. Help them to stop procrastinating and ask them to decide on one goal they’re going for.

B. FORMULATE THE GOAL INTO A NUMBER

Why a number? So they can take aim and know if they’ve hit it! Numbers are way easier to focus on and enables them to track their progress.

C. KEEP THE GOAL IN SIGHT — LITERALLY

Keeping their goal in plain sight will help you be accountable. Stick it on the fridge, their screen saver or send it in a text to someone every day!

There’s lots of other ideas to help your teenagers set goals and make the right decisions but this is a great way to get them started - give it a whirl and let me know how it went -
