2018 snapshot

A Standout Year

In our 2018 annual snapshot we've brought together all the good reports, stats, progress and stories to show how much we've got to be thankful for. Thankful to Jesus, for relentlessly building His Church and thankful to everyone who affectionately calls Home Church their church, without whom all this wouldn't have been possible.

Whilst this is just a snapshot, you'll see where we're at and anticipate where we're headed. Our full overview and financials will be available to view in the report hosted by the charity commission so be sure to check it out at a later date via their website.

As you read through these highlights our prayer is that you're inspired, encouraged and spurred on to keep playing your part in seeing God's Kingdom built both locally and globally.

God is building a Home

Ephesians 2:19-22 (MSG)

That’s plain enough, isn’t it? You’re no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He’s using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day—a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home.

The Best Place For Family

We are a church that believes in Jesus and is centred around family; to some this means being a church for the generations, to others its finding friends that feel like family. Whichever way you look at it, we have built a reputation for being the ‘best place for family' and this has been a major focus for us in 2018 especially across our Sunday services, midweek groups and ministries.

Standout Values

Everyone is welcome at Home Church where you'll find people from all walks of life. When you feel part of a family, it makes sense that you'll want to get involved, contribute and play your part. We don't stress membership but do encourage everyone to get involved in our five core values.

In 2018 we have continued to emphasise the importance and significance of our core values.

Go

"We are a Soul Winning Church"

Commit to telling people about Jesus, bringing friends and family with you to church to experience the life-changing message of Jesus Christ for themselves.

"And then he told them, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.”

Mark 16:15 (NLT)

Groups

"We are a Relational Church"

Commit to being relationally connected especially participating in a small group if the life of church. We believe it's the best way to build friendships and grow in our relationship with Christ.

"They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts."

Acts 2:46 (NIV)

Gifts

"We are a Servant-hearted Church"

Commit to serving others with your gifts and talents. We believe God has equipped each of us with unique gifts and skill sets. We encourage you to use your talents to serve God's vision through the local church.

"God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another."

1 Peter 4:10 (NLT)

Give

"We are a Generous Church"

Commit to financially supporting the vision of Home Church through tithes and offerings. We count it a privilege to give back to God from that which He has blessed us with.

"The world of the generous gets larger and larger;
the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller. The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped."

Proverbs 11:24-25 (MSG)

Grow

"We are a Thriving Church"

Commit to moving forward in life. We don't want to simply survive, but thrive in our faith, relationships, health, career and more. We are devoted and passionate learners.

"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship,"

Acts 2:42 (NIV)

Standout Leadership

Our church leadership is made up of servant hearted leaders providing strength in depth and wisdom in abundance. The team has grown this year and continues to provide the oversight and direction required as our church grew throughout 2018

Standout Partnerships

We are passionate about bringing hope to the broken and fighting injustice in our world. We can't do everything but we can do something. With this in mind we continue to partner with organisations and experts in the field to see the lives of people around the world transformed and restored.

Read about some of the partners we worked with this year and projects we have been involved in.

Screenshot 2018-12-19 at 15.50.14.png

Compassion

Compassion is a leading children’s charity with a relentless passion to give children the opportunity to escape the suffering and fear poverty brings. Their mission is to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. Through our partnership with Compassion we sponsor children in Sri Lanka.

We currently sponsor 48 children in Sri Lanka. In 2018 took a team from HOME Church to visit the projects we partner with and meet their sponsor children.

LOVE146

Love146 is an international human rights organisation working to end child trafficking and exploitation through survivor care and prevention. We partner with Love146 to help grow the movement to end child trafficking while providing effective, thoughtful solutions.

In July 2018 we hosted a charity football event to raise funds and awareness for the charity.

FEED

FEED has become one of the county's largest food banks, giving out on average 80 bags of food a week. Again this year we continued to partner with them financially to provide food and essential items for those most in need.

You Me & Tea

In 2018 we hosted afternoon tea parties for the elderly in our community to help them beat loneliness, stay active and build new friendships.

 Other Initiatives:

We've also be able to help those most in need financially and practically to get through difficult seasons. This has included; providing food vouchers, gifting small appliances for the home, financial assistance and sponsorships for retreats/conferences.
