The best place for family
We are a church that believes in Jesus and is centred around family; to some this means being a church for the generations, to others its finding friends that feel like family. Whichever way you look at it, we have a reputation for being the ‘best place for family' and invite you to see for yourself by joining us for one of our Sunday services and midweek groups.
God is building a Home
Ephesians 2:19-22 (MSG)
That’s plain enough, isn’t it? You’re no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He’s using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day—a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home.
Everyone is welcome at Home Church where you'll find people from all walks of life. When you feel part of a family, it makes sense that you'll want to get involved, contribute and play your part. We don't stress membership but do encourage everyone to get involved in our five core values.
We call them the 5 G's;
"We are a Soul Winning Church"
Commit to telling people about Jesus, bringing friends and family with you to church to experience the life-changing message of Jesus Christ for themselves.
"And then he told them, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.”
"We are a Relational Church"
Commit to being relationally connected especially participating in a small group if the life of church. We believe it's the best way to build friendships and grow in our relationship with Christ.
"They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts."
"We are a Servant-hearted Church"
Commit to serving others with your gifts and talents. We believe God has equipped each of us with unique gifts and skill sets. We encourage you to use your talents to serve God's vision through the local church.
"God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another."
"We are a Generous Church"
Commit to financially supporting the vision of Home Church through tithes and offerings. We count it a privilege to give back to God from that which He has blessed us with.
"The world of the generous gets larger and larger;
the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller. The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped."
"We are a Thriving Church"
Commit to moving forward in life. We don't want to simply survive, but thrive in our faith, relationships, health, career and more. We are devoted and passionate learners.
"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship,"
See how we view God, Jesus, the Bible, man, and many significant aspects of our faith. Firmly rooted in Scripture, the beliefs of Home Church guide our decisions as a church.
The Bible is God's Word to us
It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs about living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without error.
The Holy Spirit lives in each Christian from salvation
He is coequal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts and as Christians we seek to live under His control daily.
Man is made in the image of God to have fellowship with Him
We became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin." Sin separates us from God and causes many problems in our life.
Jesus is the Son of God
He is coequal with the Father and Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King.
Man was created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.
The Church is God's design for community
It is a local community of baptised believers unified through faith in Christ. It is committed to the teachings of Christ and obeying all of His commands, and it seeks to bring the Gospel to the world. The Church works together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ.
Baptism in the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit brings God's presence into our lives. He empowers us and leads us into all truth. He releases the power of God into our lives. Believers will flourish in life, be empowered as a witness in their personal world, and equipped to build the church.
Salvation is God's free gift to us, but we must accept it
We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
Baptism is symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ
Once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, baptism is a way for us to publicly declare our new life in Christ. It is also a step of obedience based on God’s commands and allows us to follow the example of Jesus, who submitted himself to baptism to "fulfil all righteousness."
